how to train your jack russell

The Jack Russell was bred to have as a working dog—confidence, courage, independence, and intelligence they love to bark..  anybody,s Jack Russell can be trained ,but must be motivated to learn and follow direction. they can get bored very easily, so training must be interesting, fun, and rewarding for him.give them treats when they do some thing good

Training

The best type of training uses strict reinforcement to condition the dogs behavior...
  1. You reward the right behavior every time it happens, but you ignore the wrong behaviors.
  2. The dog soon understand that if he does a certain thing  or something you want, he’ll rewarded but if he does something that is wrong , he will get nothing.
Positive reinforcement is highly effective when training a Jack Russell terrier. Generously rewarding your dog for correct responses while training will keep him interested and willing to follow your direction. You can train your Jack Russell yourself or can turn to a trainer or training classes for help. The best way is to be strict and train your self but some times you may have to get a trainer

  1. Say “good boy or girl as your Jack Russell performs the behavior, then give them a a treat. This marker words tells the dog that what he did was right. The treat gives good reinforcement.
  2. Once your Jack Russell starts doing the right behavior on his own, add the verbal command, such as “Sit!”, to the action. Your Jack Russell will associate the command with the action, and every time he performs it, you’ll say good boy or girl After you say the marker words, you should give him a treat.
Make sure to say good boy or girl while certain behavior is in process, not when the behavior has already happened.always  reward your Jack Russell ..if not he may not pay attention.
